In today’s modern times, technology is never left behind. Technology continues to upgrade its inventions to make life easier and comfortable for people, especially for our beloved disabled and old folks. Chair lift is one of the inventions that make life normal and comfortable for handicaps and oldies.

Chair lifts are electric powered chairs used to help you climb up and down the stairs. You basically traverse several steps without actually going up and down. Chair lifts are most useful and helpful especially for those who have mobility issues. If you are sick, and the doctor warned you to stay at home and minimize walking around, you don’t have to confine yourself in the four corners of your room. You can still roam around the house and enjoy its space without flouting your doctor’s advice. All you have to do is sit on the chair lift and it will do the rest. With chair lifts, you can still live an active life with the assurance that you are comfortable and safe.

If you wish to reach the upper part of your house but no one is around to assist you, chair lift solves the issue. You don’t have to call for someone and assist you moving from one part of the house to the other. You will not feel so inferior and so useless because you can still move ‘round like any other normal person even if you have mobility problems.

In addition, if you have old folks leaving in your house and no one is available to take care of them, you are confident that they are safe. No risk of falling off and stumbling down the stairs. Aged people have poor vision and if you let them go up and down the stairs themselves, they might underestimate their steps and fall off. Also, constant climbing the stairs, especially if it has a long staircase, speeds the wear and tear of ankles and joints. So, with the help of lifts, this risk is reduced. Also, chair lifts reduce risk of imminent accidents.

Chair lifts are easy to use. Its features are especially designed to our oldies so they can operate it themselves. Chair lifts come with remote control, sensors and push buttons for that user-friendly operation. Depending on your lifestyle and convenience, you can choose from several fits and models. The most common features of a chairlift are:

  • Foldable
  • Removable side arms
  • Seatbelts/Protective belts
  • Rechargeable battery
  • Battery operated in case of power outage
  • Remote sensors
  • Push buttons
  • Foot rest
  • Back rest

Chair lift can be a very expensive item to purchase but the rewards, convenience, safety and comfort it brings is worth the purchase. It offers peace of mind for the members of the family who have oldies at homes, confident that their loved ones are safe going up and down the stairs while they are away and at the same time, it also provides security and convenience to oldies that use the chair lift. Also, it brings independence to our old folks knowing that they can still participate in household activities with the help of chair lifts.

Chair lifts are truly an essential part of invention. It has been around for over 60 years providing solution to those with mobility issues. And up until now, continues to upgrade the features to tailor to each of the customers’ needs.
